The Sun is surrounded by great walking and riding country. The road up to the fells goes right past our front door, another path to the mountains starts at the pub and the old railway track just up the hill provides an easy walk with great views over the valley.

For cyclists - we have a yard at the back of the pub which is overlooked by the staff quarters and protected by sensor lights. It's not large but it is big enough to store a few bicycles out of sight of the public and has some hefty fixtures to chain them to. Anything left there is at your own risk but you are welcome to use the yard which is considerably more private than the car park. Sadly it is not big enough for motorbikes.
